Cycling Without Age
Free trishaw rides for seniors and people with disabilities in Davis. We connect riders with trained volunteer pilots to ease social isolation and share the joy of the wind in your hair.
Program goals
- Provide opportunities for seniors and people with disabilities to enjoy cycling in Davis. Connect seniors with volunteers to reduce social isolation (Ida Bryan Memorial Fund / Davis Community Church).
- Provide opportunities for volunteers (including bike-riding seniors) to offer rides to others. Make greenbelts and parks more available to people with mobility limitations (YSAQMD grant).
- Develop partnerships with Davis Senior Center, Yolo Healthy Aging Alliance, Yolo Hospice, faith-based organizations, Rancho Yolo and senior residential facilities.

Pilot with us
Volunteer pilots
No strong cycling skills are required — the electric-assist motor allows anyone to pilot the Chat. Training is provided, including practice rides, route recommendations, and working with seniors. Volunteer shifts are 1–2 hours for a single ride.
The Chat trishaw
Dutch design for safety and comfort. Two seated passengers with seat belts; footrest lowers for no-step entry, hood for sun and rain protection, and an electric-assist motor.
