Program Goals​:

Provide opportunities for seniors and people with disabilities to enjoy cycling in Davis. Connect seniors with volunteers to reduce social isolation (Ida Bryan Memorial Fund / Davis Community Church).

Provide opportunities for volunteers (including bike-riding seniors) to offer rides to others. Make greenbelts and parks more available to people with mobility limitations (YSAQMD grant). Develop partnerships with Davis Senior Center, Yolo Healthy Aging Alliance, Yolo Hospice, Faith-based organizations, Rancho Yolo, Senior Residential Facilities.

Volunteer Pilots
No strong cycling skills are required (electric-assist motor allows anyone to pilot the Chat). Training is provided, including practice rides, route recommendations, and working with seniors. Volunteer shifts will be 1-2 hours for a single ride.
The Chat Trishaw
Dutch design for safety and comfort. Two seated passengers with seat belts; footrest lowers for no-step entry, hood for sun and rain protection and electric-assist motor.
